Oklahoma State Singles Shoot-Out

Hello everyone! Welcome to the inaugural Oklahoma State Singles Shoot-Out! We're excited to finally host a tournament here in the Sooner State. First, we would like to thank the USHA representatives and regional collegiate coaches for all your input. Also, a huge thank you to those men who have kept the game alive here in Oklahoma. Due to the limited number of courts and court availability, the scoring system used in some divisions may be affected. This will ultimately depend on total the number of entrants. The purpose is to limit the time of the matches so we can proceed quickly through the brackets. We appreciate your understanding.

RULE MODIFICATION *PLEASE READ*

The standard USHA rules will be modified in the scoring and serving. The point system will be the standard two games to 21 tiebreaker to 11. The following divisions will be affected:
  • Men's and Women's A's, B's, C's, and Novice divisions
- Rally scoring will be in effect. Rally scoring is when you can score regardless of the person serving.
  • An example of this is when Player A is serving to Player B. Player B returns the ball but Player A fails to address the return. Player B gets the point.
- Table tennis serving style is in effect. Each player gets 3 serves until the game is over.
  • Player A serves to Player B and continues to serve until Player A has completed 3 serves. Once that is complete, the players will rotate in the service box. Now Player B will serve to Player A 3 times. This will continue until the game is over. The final point does not have to be earned while in the service box. Remember that rally scoring is in effect so either the server or returner can make the point.
Men's and Women's Open will play the standard serve but points will be to 15 for the first two rounds. Semi-finals and finals will be to 21 with a tiebreaker to 11. This may change based on the number of entries.   All consolations will be one game to 25, pending an open court.

Hospitality

Entry fees will include a tournament shirt as well as lunch and dinner on Saturday.

Events

The tournament directors reserve the right to combine events if needed. Players may enter a maximum of two events. All players will be guaranteed two games per event.
