I hereby, for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, waive and release any and all rights and claims for damages I may have against the YMCA of the Northern Sky, F-M Handball Club, or their representatives, successors, or assigns for any and all injuries which may be suffered by me in connection with my competition in this tournament.
LOCKER ROOMS:
YMCA Fercho Branch locker rooms and showers will be available to registered tournament players at no cost. Please bring your ID and a lock.
TOURNAMENT GAME TIMES & SCHEDULES:
Tournament Games: Depending on the number of entrants, games may start as early as 4:00pm on Friday, March 6.
Tournament Brackets/Game Schedule: Tournament brackets & schedules will be emailed to each registered player on Wednesday, March 4. If you do not receive the brackets/schedules by email on the March 4, please feel free to contact Dee Jones at 701-364-4130, 701-238-3944, or jones@ymcanorthernsky.org after 12:00pm (noon) on March 4.
AWARDS:
Awards will be given for 1st place, second place, and consolation in all events.
TOURNAMENT RULES:
General: Tournament ball is the USHA 21 • All players MUST wear eye protection • Games will be refereed by a losing player from the previous game.
Matches:
5 or more players in the bracket: Two games to 21 (tie breaker to 11 if needed)
3 or 4 players in the bracket (Round Robin): Two games to 21
HOSPITALITY:
Food: Snacks, fruit, and beverages will be provided for players and fans throughout the tournament on Friday & Saturday. Lunch is free to all registered tournament players and will be served about 11:30am on Saturday.
Friday Night Social: From roughly 8:30pm-11:00pm, the F-M Handball Club (and a number of generous donors) will buy players and their guests some beverages and pizza at Rhombus Guys, 606 Main Ave, Fargo ND 58103, which is located 1-2 blocks from the YMCA.
Saturday Night Banquet & Raffle: The banquet is free to all tournament players…raffle tickets are extra! It will be held at Fargo Billiards & Gastropub, 3234 43rd St S, Fargo, ND 58104 (about 7 miles from the YMCA Fercho Branch). The social starts at 6:30pm, dinner starts at 7:15pm, and the raffle starts immediately after dinner. The 50/50 Raffle is one of the primary fundraisers for the F-M Handball Club, so buy some tickets, win some cash or other prizes, and help us continue to grow our local handball community and enhance our tournaments!
TOURNAMENT BACKGROUND:
This annual tournament has been sponsored by the YMCA of the Northern Sky* (formerly the YMCA of Cass & Clay Counties) and the F-M Handball Club for many decades. Even though it is the North Dakota State Tournament, we welcome handball players from all states and provinces.
* FYI: In January 2024, the YMCA of Cass & Clay Counties merged with the Fergus Falls (MN) YMCA to form the YMCA of the Northern Sky.
