YMCA Fercho Branch locker rooms and showers will be available to registered tournament players at no cost, please bring your ID and a lock.
Deadlines: To guarantee you receive a high-quality entry long sleeve T-shirt your size, entries must be received by 12:00pm (noon) on Tuesday, September 15, 2026!!! Late entries will be accepted until12:00pm (noon) on Friday, September 25, 2026.
Event(s): Maximum of 2 events per player (either 1 singles event & 1 doubles event or 2 doubles events)
Waiver: By submitting this entry form, I hereby, for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, waive and release any and all rights and claims for damages I may have against the YMCA of the Northern Sky, F-M Handball Club, or their representatives, successors, or assigns for any and all injuries which may be suffered by me in connection with my competition in this tournament.
TOURNAMENT GAME TIMES & SCHEDULES:
Tournament Games: Depending on the number of entrants, games may start as early as 4:00pm on Friday, October 2.
Tournament Brackets/Game Schedule: Tournament brackets & schedules will be emailed to each registered player on Wednesday, September 30. If you do not receive the brackets/schedules by email on the 30th, please feel free to contact Dee Jones at 701-364-4130, 701-238-3944, or jones@ymcanorthernsky.org after 12:00pm (noon) on September 30.
If necessary, finals/championship matches may be played on Sunday, October 4 beginning @ 10:00am.
AWARDS:
In addition to the entry high quality long sleeve T-shirt each registered player will receive, trophies (we are going old school for the 50th) will be given for 1st place, 2nd place, and consolation winners for all events.
TOURNAMENT RULES:
General: Tournament ball is the USHA 21 • All players MUST wear eye protection • A referee will be provided for all matches (in most cases a losing player from the previous game on the court will referee if they are available)
Matches: Two games to 21 (tie breaker to 11 if needed)
HOSPITALITY:
Food: Snacks, fruit, and beverages will be provided throughout the tournament on Friday & Saturday. Sandwiches/lunch for players will be served about 11:30am on Saturday. Lunch is free to all registered tournament players.
Friday Night Social: From roughly 8:30pm-11:00pm, the F-M Handball Club will buy players, guests, and former players some beverages and pizza at Rhombus Guys, 606 Main Ave, Fargo ND 58103, which is located 1-2 blocks from the YMCA.
Saturday Night Banquet & Raffle: The banquet is free to all registered tournament players and $25 for guests and former players…raffle tickets are extra! It will be held at Fargo Billiards & Gastropub, 3234 43rd St S, Fargo (about 7 miles from the YMCA Fercho Branch). The social starts at 6:30pm, dinner starts at 7:15pm, and the raffle starts immediately after dinner. The Raffle is the primary fundraiser for the F-M Handball Club, so buy some tickets, win cash and some great prizes, and help us continue to grow our local handball community and enhance our tournaments!
HOTELS:
Reserve your hotel room early since this is the same weekend as the NDSU Football Homecoming Game! The closest hotels to the YMCA Fercho Branch are the Jasper Hotel (215 Broadway N, Fargo, ND 58102 / 701-532-2150) and Radisson Blu (201 5th St N, Fargo, ND 58102 / 701-232-7363). However, the area has many other hotels in various price ranges within easy driving distance of the YMCA Fercho Branch.

He will have a jacket at the Saturday Night Banquet for you to see, touch, etc. If you are at all interested in a jacket or have any questions, please contact Bill Kelly at Bill.Kelly45@gmail.com or 701-232-5064 (landline) to let him know what size you are interested in and get your questions answered. If you decide to buy a jacket, you will NOT have to pay for the jacket until the Banquet!!!

TOURNAMENT HISTORY: This is the 50th year of the YMCA of the Northern Sky /F-M Handball Club's Annual Rudy Harris Handball Tournament honoring Rudy Harris, a man who was a pioneer and leader in the sport of handball at a local, regional and national level. Rudy was a founding member of the North Dakota Handball Hall of Fame and he was inducted into the Minnesota Handball Hall of Fame in September 2024. Rudy also positively influenced the lives of hundreds of youth as the executive director of the YMCA of the Northern Sky (formerly the Fargo-Moorhead Family YMCA). Even though Rudy is no longer with us, his four-wall handball legacy and his impact on our handball community lives on!
