Important Deadlines and Dates
  • Saturday, January 18 – Hotel reservations deadline for Park Lane Suites and Hotel Deluxe Portland.
  • Friday, January 24 – Deadline to file Eligibility Appeals
  • Thursday, February 6 – Deadline to submit entries, verification letters and seeding information
  • Sunday, February 9- Deadline for players to create a Bracket Ace Account. 
  • Monday, February 10 – Deadline for First Draft of Seeding to Coaches
  • Tuesday, February 11 – Deadline for First Challenges from Coaches
  • Wednesday, February 12 – Deadline for Second Draft of Seeding to Coaches
  • Thursday, February 13 – Deadline for Final Challenges from Coaches
  • Friday, February 14 – Final Seeding information submitted. Coaches told what division they are in.
  • Saturday, February 15- Deadline for coaches to opt up to a higher division.
  • Monday, February 17 – Starting Times and Draws Posted.
  • February 19- On-Site Coaches Meeting and Play Begins around 8am.
  • February 23 (12 pm) – Play ends
Seeding
  • Seeding will be entered when players enter online. We hope to not just a ranking of players on your team but a sense of their skills and how they compare to other players on your team. When combined with last years results we will create our first draft.
  • Challenges policy-First round challenges do not require any written reason. A written reason for challenges in the second round will require a written reason.
  • Returning player seeding policy-Players will be seeded above where they finished in the previous years unless they zero-pointed in the previous year. Requests to a seed below where they finished must be in writing and include the reason for the request.
Format
  • Guaranteed three singles matches with at least two seeding matches preceding a single elimation bracket
  • Players are grouped in divisions of 16 players each. This ensures all players compete against others with a similar skill set
Meals
  • Thursday, Friday and Saturday Lunch. Saturday Banquet.
Banquet
  • Saturday night at the Multnomah Athletic Club
Awards
  • All Tournament – Open division semifinalist and finalist (both genders)
  • All American – Top 4 (or more in case of tie) American players in top 16 Singles or finalists of Open Doubles
  • Spirit of Handball Award – Given to the player who demonstrates great sportsmanship and best captures the spirit of handball. Players are nominated by fellow players and coaches (both genders)
  • Most Improved Player – Given to the player whose final seed improved the most when compared to last year's final seed (both genders)
